First of all, the whole concept of dowry is fake. It all starts with the parents of the brides trying to wash their hands off their daughters without giving them their share of inheritence. Even if they give it they call it stridhan at that point of time. The minute any problem crops up in the course of married life, the bride and their parents start calling it dowry to threaten and blackmail the husband and his family. These stupid laws have been created by vested interests to make easy money. These vested interests play on the fear of women and men to divide a society. They will bring down anything good.
